Bellevue: The Best City in the Country?

There’s a lot that goes into determining how much someone likes the neighborhood and surrounding city they call home. Is it easy to get around without a vehicle? Is the crime rate low? Are property values in the area relatively high? Usually the best places to live in and buy real estate are considered metropolises like New York or Miami. So what’s all this talk about Bellevue, Washington?

Indeed, CNN has proclaimed Bellevue to be the best city in the country to live in, beating out over 95 competitors like Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Honolulu, Hawaii. The qualities that contributed to its top ranking are the soaring employment rate and highly skilled workforce, excellent schools and the nearness of popular attractions and hotspots complemented by plenty of nature. Even so, individuals looking to become future Bellevue homeowners should take note of a slight matter.

The upscale priced Bellevue real estate market is arguably the only thing some people might not agree with. Bellevue condos like One Lincoln Tower are still out of most people’s price range despite the drops in property value. It’s important to note however that those who can afford a Bellevue home have access to some of the finest schools and well regarded hospitals in the state of Washington, many of which are within walking distance. Plus, Seattle jobs and the skilled workforce in the city ensure low unemployment, steady income and considerable city development.

And then of course there are the many parks and a delightful ambiance aided by the gorgeous Cascade and Olympic mountain panoramas that give the city its name. It may be catering largely to the wealthy but most of its residents will agree that the fusion of inviting atmosphere and great schools and jobs make living in Bellevue a priceless living experience.
